Aberdeen Photographer: 366 Photography Challenge – Week Forty-Nine
Welcome back to my photography challenge! This week was all about embracing spontaneity, creativity, and the beauty around us.
Day 328: Metal Texture
After editing for hours for a client, I realised that time had flown by, and I hadn’t gone out to take a picture. So, I had to come up with a concept using items at home. Every morning, I make coffee with my Italian press, so I took the filter and created this photo. To add interest, I used a red light wand to enhance the textures.
Day 329: The House at the End of the Path
It was a gorgeous day but bitterly cold—breathing through my nose was painful. The fallen leaves along the path revealed a house at the end that caught my attention. I loved the composition and used it for my daily challenge.
Day 330: Frosty Morning
I woke up eager to capture the frost on the grass. By the time I stepped outside, the sun had started melting the icy layer in some areas. I loved how the sunlight created the impression of waves on the hill, making it the perfect choice for this day.
Day 331: Aberdeen Christmas Market
After finishing work, I headed to the city centre to volunteer. I used the opportunity to capture an image of Aberdeen’s Christmas market. The freezing weather seemed to keep the crowds away, but the festive spirit was still alive.
Day 332: High Heels
I attended an all-women event at The Marcliffe Hotel, kindly invited by Balfour+Manson LLP. It was an evening filled with energy and inspiration. Inspired by the atmosphere, I took this image of high heels, a nod to the empowerment of women at the event.
Day 333: The Division of Two Properties
During my walk, I noticed a curving stone wall dividing farmland and a house garden. While the wall is always picturesque, its charm depends on the light and season. On this day, everything aligned perfectly for a photo that captured its idyllic beauty.
Day 334: Gorgeous Light
Close to where I took the previous day’s photo is a lovely path. The way the light fell on it was breathtaking, making it impossible to resist capturing this scene. Beauty truly is just a few steps away!
